My family relocated to Albany about four years ago after living in the Eugene/Springfield area for several years. During this time, I have had to build a new list of portrait locations for my local clients. I have grown to love so many of the parks and interesting locations in this area! Up for Adventure?
If you’re up for an adventure, the Oregon Coast is one of my all-time favorite portrait locations! Ona Beach in Newport, Haystack Rock in Canon Beach, and Haystack Rock in Pacific City are all beautiful beach locations. And there are plenty of others up and down the coastline to explore.
If you’re looking for another kind of adventure, the Columbia River Gorge is a beautiful option! Multnomah Falls, Benson Lake, Rowena Crest and Government Cove are all stunning locations along the Columbia Gorge. If you’re looking for a similar vibe but more local, I highly recommend Mary’s Peak as well! Mary’s Peak is only an hour away from Albany (located West of Corvallis) and offers a dramatic backdrop similar to the Gorge.

Flower Fields
I’m still learning what the best floral locations in Albany are–if you know of any, feel free to comment below! If you’re up for a drive, I absolutely love the Owen Rose Garden in Eugene! The roses are usually in bloom starting around June, making this a great option for summertime sessions. The State Capitol in Salem is full of blossoms in early spring, and the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival in Woodburn is another great option during the springtime. Further north, the Washington Park Rose Garden is a tried and true favorite, bursting with beautiful blooms in the summertime! And if you’re looking for something a little more unique, the crystal springs rhododendron garden in Portland is beautiful and accessible for a small fee. Further South, Mckenzie River Lavender Farm is a stunning location in the summertime and is accessible by appointment. Along the gorge, you can find beautiful Wildflowers at Rowena Crest. And many of the natural areas in Albany are full of wildflowers and daisy blooms in the spring and summer.
