Last month, Anthony and I took a short trip to Idaho to visit my best friend and her family. We had a great time catching up with our good friends, and we finally got to meet their two-year-old son, Emmett! Emmett is easily one of the strongest and most amazing little humans I have ever met. He defied so many odds when he was born around 3 months premature back in 2020. Since then, he has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy and epilepsy and is working hard in multiple therapies.

But when you look into Emmett’s sweet blue eyes, you would never know how many hurdles he has overcome! His bright smile lights up his face, and his enthusiasm is positively infectious. I teared up as I edited these images, remembering the photos of the teeny-tiny baby Melina sent me just two years ago, and how earnestly we prayed for his strength and growth. And boy did God give him strength!

I am SO glad we took the time to capture these images during our short trip. This family is so special to me and this session will forever be one of my favorites. Emmett’s joy radiates in these images, as does the joy of his parents.
