As of today, I am 36 weeks pregnant with baby #2! This pregnancy has been such a whirlwind–when you have a toddler to chase around, time doesn’t slow down for anything! We have been slowly making preparations for our sweet boy to arrive, and now that we’re in the 9th month, I think we finally feel somewhat ready. This pregnancy has been different from my last in a lot of ways, especially since we didn’t have a whole nursery to put together this time around. We live in a two-bedroom house, so this baby will be rooming in with us until he’s old enough to share a room with his big sister. But we still have a cute little space prepared for him in our bedroom, and we can’t wait to have him join us.
These last few months have been difficult, as I have dealt with unpleasant pregnancy symptoms (headaches being the most frequent ailment) while staying home with my 2-year-old daughter. I have also had to scale back on my session bookings, due to being high risk for COVID. But I recently received my second dose of the COVID vaccine (after careful deliberation and support from my doctor) and besides being super pregnant, I feel wonderful! (And the baby is doing great!) There is so much to look forward to once this baby is here, and I can’t wait for life to regain some sense of normalcy in the months ahead.
Last week, I finally gained some motivation to take a few maternity photos, thanks to the help of my wonderful husband. It’s weird comparing these images to my first pregnancy, because I am easily two times bigger. This boy is measuring about 2 weeks ahead, and I have a feeling he will be a bit larger than his sister was, when he’s born. Regardless, we are so excited to welcome him into the world soon–just around 4 weeks to go, and we can’t wait to meet him. 💙
