One month ago today, we photographed Christi and John’s wedding at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club! After getting to know Christi and John during their engagement session last spring, we just knew their wedding day was going to be lovely. And it certainly was! These two are such a sweet couple, and we loved getting to spend the day with them and their closest family and friends. There was no shortage of joy that day, which is definitely how all wedding days should be!

Christi and John met in June of 2018, after being connected through a mutual friend and going on a blind date together. At the time, Christi wasn’t looking to meet anyone. ‘But then I decided I should just go for it–I had never gone on a blind date,” Christi said. They had their first date at the McMenamins Edgefield Brewfest, and they continued seeing each other after that.

Fast forward: John proposed to Christi this past February, at the McMenamins where they first met. Christi had been told by John’s friend that John was getting a promotion and that they wanted to surprise him by going out. It was super snowy that day, so Christi said she almost didn’t go. “I actually took a nap before going, not knowing that they were all waiting for me,” Christi said. They all thought she wasn’t going to show up. When she got there, the snow was sticking, and she only planned to stay a short time. John’s friend met Christi in the hotel and walked her out to a little building, talking about how excited she was for his promotion and that John hadn’t even arrived yet. When she opened the door, John was standing by a fire surrounded by some candles. It was then that he got down on one knee and proposed.

Christi and John were married on August 17th in a beautiful outdoor ceremony set on the rolling hills of Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club. It was clear that they put a lot of thought into their special day, and it turned out so beautiful! There were tons of elegant details, which were complimented by a color scheme of dusty blues and whites. We particularly loved the vintage elements, which invoked a sense of timeless romance–especially when paired with Christi’s beautiful lace ballgown. It was like a fairytale, and Christi could have easily passed as a Disney princess!

We had so much fun capturing Christi & John’s special day, and we are so excited for them as they begin their lives as husband and wife. We wish them nothing less than a lifetime of happiness together–congratulations, you two!
