It’s June, and I am getting so excited for wedding season to start! We have some beautiful weddings lined up this summer, with some of the sweetest couples!

Christi and John are one such couple, who booked us for their wedding and engagement session right before I went on maternity leave. I was 37 weeks pregnant during their engagement session, and I’m thankful for how patient they were as I waddled from location to location taking their photos. It was a beautiful sunny day in the middle of March, and we loved getting to soak up the sunshine while getting to know this sweet couple!

Christi and John met on a blind date, after connecting through a mutual friend. At the time, Christi wasn’t looking to meet anyone. ‘But then I decided I should just go for it–I had never gone on a blind date,” Christi said. They had their first date in June of 2018 at the McMenamins Edgefield Brewfest, and continued seeing each other after that.

John proposed to Christi this past February, about a week before Valentine’s Day. “He proposed at McMenamins Edgefield, since that is where we met,” said Christi. She had been told by John’s friend that John was getting a promotion and that they wanted to surprise him by going out. It was super snowy that day, so Christi said she almost didn’t go. “I actually took a nap before going, not knowing that they were all waiting for me,” Christi said. They all thought she wasn’t going to show up. When she got there, the snow was sticking, and she only planned to stay a short time. John’s friend met Christi in the hotel and walked her out to a little building, talking about how excited she was for his promotion and that John hadn’t even arrived yet. When she opened the door, John was standing by a fire surrounded by some candles. It was then that he got down on one knee and proposed.

Christi and John are getting married on August 17th at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Course, and we can’t wait to join them and photograph their beautiful day. When asked what she’s most looking forward to that day, Christi said she can’t wait to marry her best friend. “Everything else will be pretty and fun and it will be great to be with friends and family,” she said. “But when I picture my wedding, I just picture the exchanging of vows to my best friend, partner in crime, soon to be husband.”
