As a wedding photographer, I am constantly surprised and humbled by the wonderful couples who choose me to photograph their special day. Alexis and Sean are no exception! I met them for their engagement session last weekend, and they were just brimming with sweetness and laughter! The whole evening, I found myself wondering if they could possibly be any cuter. They are genuine, joyful, and loving, and I adored getting to capture these qualities in their engagement photos. It was difficult to pick my favorite photos for this post, because this couple is seriously so beautiful!
All of my wedding collections include a complementary engagement session, because I feel that it’s a great opportunity for my clients to meet me before the big day, get to know my shooting style, and gain confidence in front of the camera (all while capturing beautiful memories of this special time in life). Alexis and Sean’s experience is a wonderful testimony of this! Though they were initially nervous to be in front of the camera, we were able to make them feel increasingly comfortable, and they ended up having a great time. As a result, they will also feel more prepared when it’s time to photograph them on their wedding day. After their session, Alexis said she was so thankful to have had this opportunity. “We will never get to be ‘engaged’ again, with all the feelings of anticipation and excitement to be with the person you love the most. I feel so blessed we will have these pictures to look back on for years to come,” she said. Guys, this is exactly why I do what I do.
Sean met Alexis last summer, after Sean got a job working with Alexis’s mother. Because Sean was new to the area, she introduced the two, hoping that Alexis could show him around. The three met for drinks one night, and Alexis and Sean immediately hit it off. They had their first date just a few days later, and the rest is history!
Fast forward: Last fall, Alexis quit her job so she could start taking classes again. So as a “here’s to the next chapter of your life” trip, Sean planned for them to spend a weekend in Las Vegas. The first night, they had reservations at the Eiffel Tower Restaurant. “The table had roses and champagne waiting for us and the window overlooked the water show at the Bellagio. Everything was so beautiful and the food was so amazing,” Alexis said. “At the end of the dinner, he got down on one knee and a hidden photographer popped out and captured the whole thing. It was like out of a movie!“
Alexis and Sean will be getting married this September at Mt. Pisgah Arboretum in Eugene. When asked what she’s most looking forward to that day, Alexis said she just can’t wait to marry Sean. “The rest is just a big party with friends and family to celebrate. I can’t wait to be his wife,” she said. Sean’s brother will also be officiating the ceremony, which the couple is also looking forward to. “I think it’s those personal touches that will make the day really special“, Alexis said.
We are so excited for Alexis and Sean, and we can’t wait to be there for their wedding day in just two months. It’s been such an honor getting to know them as they plan their wedding, and we know their special day will brimming with love and joy, just as they are.
